Nootrenbadhu (180) set to hit screens on June 25th

Press Release – Chennai, June 10th 2011

The Nootrenbadu (180) team is happy to announce that the film has been censored with no cuts and given a U certificate and is all set to hit the screens on June 25th. The much awaited summer romance starring Siddharth, Nithya Menen and Priya Anand is directed by Jayendra and produced by Sathyam Cinemas and Aghal Films. The Censor Board was truly appreciative of the film’s narrative and cinematography and the way in which director Jayendra has portrayed each of the characters, bringing out the true essence of the script.

The team has delivered a beautiful story with stunning visuals by acclaimed cinematographer, Balasubramaniem and brilliant performances by Siddharth, Nithya and Priya. The film’s music by Sharreth has received rave reviews and audiences everywhere are keen to see the way in which they’ve been visualized as all the songs are concept based. There has been a lot of speculation as to what the meaning is behind this very intriguing title, which originally according to the director, was only a ‘working title’. But the more the story progressed, the more appropriate the title seemed for the project. The film not only marks the debut of director Jayendra but also marks Siddharth’s big comeback to Tamil Cinema after a seven year hiatus.

The film has also been getting a lot of recognition for its innovative marketing efforts. For instance, you can log onto Twitter and find the characters of 180 having fun conversations with each other. Or you can log on to the music store and pay as little or as much as you want for any song from the album. Even the audio launch promotions had some fun contests on radio channels with winners not just receiving prizes but also getting passes to the audio launch itself. With the film all set to hit the screens this 25th, the team is getting geared up to promote it full throttle. Over the next few weeks, the cast along with the other members of the team will be going to several cities, talking to fans and media. There are also some fun contests and merchandise launches planned at some popular spots in Chennai. With the film being pioneered by an ad guru, you can be certain that these promotions will be something to watch out for.
